Hello The quest for doing different things at various points of my life has enriched me a great deal. Though an engineer by education, I have worked in numerous fields across countries and my primary aim in life has always been to enrich myself with different professional environments. As part of my application, I would like to divide the essay into two parts : my previous experience and the motivation behind me seeking a job in a teaching role at your esteemed institution. From my childhood, I have had a very strong foundation in mathematics and growing up in a large emerging economy like India, studying engineering was an obvious choice. I have completed my Bachelors as well as Masters in Mechanical Engineering. I worked in engineering design for a couple of years before I moved into investment banking. My love for numbers and a desire to learn about business holistically drew me towards a global bank like Deutsche Bank. While employed at Deutsche Bank, I have worked all across the globe. I have worked across a large number of developing countries in Asia. From 2009, I have been located in the US and have covered clients across the North and South American regions. In terms of work, my job has been to originate and structure financial transactions. Though my primary focus in originating deals was natural resources, I have had a fair amount of experience in foreign exchange and interest rates markets as. Along with running quantitative models, I have worked on deals on an end to end basis (from originating it to working with different elements like credit, legal, risk to final closure). The deals had large complexities like debt issuance, funding as well as derivative risk management I have recently joined an automotive company to re structure their balance sheet and work through processes which maximizes their ability to efficiently use the capital markets to increase their profitability. However along with my ten years of professional experience, I have always retained my love for teaching. Right after clearing my engineering examinations, I started to teach candidates preparing for engineering exams. Along with teaching math, physics and chemistry, I have also used my real life experience in finance to teach students about different aspects of students from time to time. I have dedicated the last fifteen years of my life in studying and learning the practical uses of various fields of professional life. I would be grateful if you can give me an opportunity to transfer that knowledge to the students in your college.
